today was my first day back at the office after 3 days of being sick. although i haven't fully recovered yet, the thought of all the work waiting for me was enough to scare (just) my fever away. and so this morning, i coughed and wheezed my way to work. oh, and i sound like shit too.
so anyhoo, the morning was terribly terribly busy. i was drowning in a gazillion mails and we're also currently undergoing peer review (preparing for audit!) now so everyone's pretty tense.
BUT BUT BUT...after having lunch with our guest auditor from sing, i was surprised to see a call from our door phone. now this usually just rings if a guest i'm expecting is at the door or if i have an interview and the guard is calling to let me know that the guest or interviewee is there. i knew i didn't have anything scheduled, so i was a bit surprised. then the guard tells me that there was a package for me that i had to receive. double surprise! so anyhoo, i walk out to the floor lobby and indeed, there was a package and it was from pebbles! triple surprise!!!
i was so giddy with excitement that i grabbed the package from the delivery guy. hahaha! he had to warn me that the box was heavy and i had to hold it at the bottom to support it. i
wowoweeeee! it's sooooo cute!!! pebbles, thank you so so so much for this lovely gift! i still don't know what you mean by its being affectionately called "your bribe", but believe me, i am ever so thankful. mmmmwah! mmmwah! mmmwah!
oh. i haven't eaten the cake yet. it just looks too good to eat! nyahahaha! i promise to have a huge slice tomorrow. i want kasi schmuck to see it too and we're seeing each other tomorrow yet.
you know, it's really amazing how friendship can cross oceans and mountains so easily. *sigh* it's already turning out to be a wonderful year!
